Now that the touurnament is over...

I know many of you cringe to even read this post (K-State friends) but it is really a CRAFTING post more than a KU Basketball post. Brent is a KU alumni and lived through the glory days of a National Championship in 1988. March Madness is a BIG deal in our house and I am SO glad that I enjoy basketball too. I actually became a KU fan before we met. Anyway, we sport our KU shirts on game day and Chloe always points to her shirt and says, "my jay, jay, jay". She really wants a Jayhawk shirt of her own. SO because it is next to impossible to find anything in Lincoln other than Husker apparel I decided to re-purpose her infant Jayhawk onesie into a toddler size shirt. Here is what I did....Original Onesie (6 month size)
Cut out a piece a bit bigger than I want the final product
Heat n Bond, great product.Iron one sideCut, peel paperIron on the shirt wherever you want itI stitched around the Jayhawk, not perfect. I like that look.
Sadly she wore this the day KU lost. There's always next year!

Operation Recovery

Sick little one

Almost 10 days ago, we had the worst few days we have ever had with Chloe. She was crying and whining all.day.long. I had taken her to the doctor on Tues of that week and they said she just had fluid in her ears (no infection). A day later I knew she definitely had a double ear infection. So back to the doctor 2 days later, after much crying and sleeplessness. In fact she had a double ear infection and pneumonia. Yikes! Doc said that these things can progress in 8 hours. So while the anti-biotics did their work we let Chloe watch LOTS of TV and did a lot of holding and singing to her. It was so sad to see her barely talking, but 48 hours later, she was SO much better. Now, she seems back to 'normal' but we will head back to the doc on Monday to make sure everything has cleared up.Cuddles with Daddy

Now that Chloe is feeling better, she is talking more and more. Favorite phrases are:
All right guys, eat!
I love you.
I want to eat.
I poo-poo, I pee-pee (waiting for warmer weather and a healthy baby to start potty training).
I want watch a show.
All-Aboard.
I want see mommy, daddy, etc...
I want to cook.

She also enjoys praying. I will start praying and thanking God for people she will list the people she is thinking/praying about. Very cute. She even prays for Elmo, Abby and may other kid characters.Such great expressions! (I have been told she gets this from me:)
Rockin' the ponytail!

Chloe loves playing in the hamper, she even closes the lid and stays there awhile.

This post got a bit random, that is a bit how life feel right now. I am thankful for our little family even in sickness!

Spring and Somersaults

Loving my yellow shoes!

The weather has been warming up (more or less) and we are enjoying walks outside, spring colors and clothes! Chloe is having so much fun lately, she loves telling me what she sees. "I see birds, I see green, I see sloth" (thanks, Diego!). She is also LOVING doing somersaults. She is really good at them and usually is pretty straight when she flips over. Can't wait for more days outside of exploring and enjoying nature. Here are some pictures capturing it all.
