Attention to Detail
I have never considered myself a detail oriented person. I am an observant person for sure, but details?! Recently I have been thinking about the little details that make our world alive and interesting. I have learned so much looking through the eyes of a two year old. She is SO detailed in the way she thinks and remembers things. There is so much beauty in the world to be examined and appreciated. Bumpy tops of acorns, rain drops, blades of grass, the world is a playground! It has been so fun to be outside enjoying life with a new set of eyes. My little one remembers so much and can recall details from weeks ago. Her memory is so strong for things that impacted her. We love to sit around and ask her questions about her day and she recalls so much. This is the beginning of story-telling and memory making. This is something both Brent and I value a lot in our family. Chloe brings a whole new level of story-telling with her attention to detail. It makes me remember that the details matter, they capture us and infuse memories into our lives. We have been doing a lot of side-walk chalk lately and I have been practicing my attention to detail while drawing some of her current favorite characters from Yo Gabba Gabba!. It is a strange show at times, but she seems to like it and the music is great. It has been fun to draw these characters over and over again and add little things each time.

My daughter is 2, and is also a big fan of Yo Gabba Gabba. There are days where she will tell me to draw Brobee over and over again. From all the practice that I got, I'm pretty good!
I can see you had a lot of practice as well! Those look great.
What a beautiful reminder to see the beauty in the details, thank-you!
