thoughts on prayer

I've been thinking a lot about prayer, the importance of it and how it pleases God and somehow connects us to his heart for Himself and others. This week I had a dream that a friend who is overseas looked at me and said, "I need you to pray for me." I have been praying for him more specifically and feel a connection to what God might be doing in the area he is located. Prayer is intimate and as I pray I see that God is really drawing me toward him and toward those I am united in prayer with. It really is a committment and an act of faithfulness to be fervent in prayer. I want to be faithful to pray and enter into the mystery, power, and cost that is required when we pray.
