Sunset and Storm

Driving into town last night we saw the most amazing combination of a fabulous sunset on one side of the horizon and a captivating thunderstorm on the other. The pinkish/red sunset slowly turned pinkish-orange. The lightening skipped across the sky somewhat randomly and we ooh-ed and awed at the flashes of light we'd see. As I was taking all this beauty in I was thinking about the grandeur of our creator. He's so surprising, even in nature. Sunset and storm. It makes sense in nature. I can sit back and enjoy it, but it is a bit harder to sit in that place in real life. In those moments last night I felt a depth of love from God. I could sit back and take in and enjoy the reality of sunset and storm (grief and joy) at the same time. I think I tend to want to segment my life into either one or the other, but sometimes there are sunset and storms happening at the same time in life. I'm thankful that when the storms of life seem a bit overwhelming that God's given me some amazing sunsets to look at to remember His goodness.

Hey girl, I got an e-mail from Stephanie who is after you on the exchange. She is trying to find out what's happening with the girl being gone before here. I am sending mine with the crew tomorrow.
