Bead Necklace

I have been trying to find things that Chloe shows an affinity toward and let her create her own versions of those things. The most recent thing she has been interested in are my long necklaces. I love my jewelry and am not too keen on sharing it (or having it broken). So to the Hob Lob we went! I knew she would like lacing bead and just went from there. 2 packages of wooden beads with pretty large holes and I had the rest of the supplies at home. I broke out my acrylic paints and had her help me with color mixing-as she wanted all the colors of the rainbow. I have a long paint brush I let her slip a bead onto and then she could get the entire bead covered in paint on her own. All I did was take it off for her. After the beads had dried I let her pick out ribbon and then made a 'needle' out of tape on one end that she was able to easily lace the beads onto. She picked the order and her favorite beads are the two pink ones! The only real downside to this necklace is that it can be dangerous if she gets it swinging around. Otherwise it was a 2 day craft that she LOVED and is so proud of her creation!
